3Dfx version of Grand Theft Auto game
The original Grand Theft Auto (GTA), released in 1997, featured support for 3Dfx graphics cards via the Glide API. This hardware acceleration enhanced the game's visuals with smoother scaling, lighting effects, and higher resolution, improving performance over the default software renderer. Although the game retained its signature top-down perspective, the 3Dfx version offered a more fluid and polished experience on capable hardware.
